黄小勇教授主要从事先进能源材料与器件研究,在Nature PhotonicsChemical Society ReviewsProgress in Materials ScienceScience BulletinApplied Catalysis B: EnvironmentalChemical Engineering JournalMaterials Today EnergyJournal of Materials Chemistry C等学术期刊上发表SCI论文140余篇,被SCI引用7000余次(Google Scholar)H因子为45,其中6篇封面文章,25ESI 高被引论文(1% Top),6ESI热点论文(1‰ Top),两篇研究论文分别入选“2017年度中国百篇最具影响国际学术论文“2018年度中国百篇最具影响国际学术论文。受邀长期担任Angewandte Chemie International EditionMaterials TodayCoordination Chemistry ReviewsAdvanced Functional MaterialsMaterials HorizonsChemistry of Materials120余种SCI期刊审稿专家与仲裁专家。荣获2019年度Publons同行评议奖(顶级审稿专家),入选2020年度全球高被引科学家(科睿唯安)、全球前2%顶尖科学家榜单(World’s Top 2% Scientists 2020,斯坦福大学;同时入选“2019年度科学影响力排行榜”和“终身科学影响力排行榜”)。担任国家自然科学基金项目评审专家、教育部青年长江学者评审专家。指导28名本科生完成毕业论文设计;培养硕士/博士研究生14名,其中10人次荣获国家奖学金,2人次荣获优秀学业奖学金特等奖(每年度,学院仅1人能获评)。此外,课题组4名硕士考入985高校攻读博士(武汉大学、西安交通大学、东南大学、天津大学)。
